Yungang Grottoes 云岗石窟

Our first pilgrim stop for the China trip ~ Yungang Grottoes  云岗石窟 (represention of Buddhist Cave Art from the 5th & 6th century) is located at Datong city, Shanxi Province of China.

More  conservation work in progress while we were there and not all caves are open, hopefully, the beautiful historic site continues to be maintained well and brings us back to the historic art of the past centuries...
